A lot of the conferences I go to mention Mentors. When I first started going to these events I mini panicked when they started talking about this. How am I supposed to find a mentor?? Does this cost money?? Do I have to tell them everything?? Will they think I’m dumb for the way I do things or because I haven’t grown as fast as others?? Why would they want to help me when they are so accomplished?? Will a fellow bookkeeper want to help me grow?? Does it have to be someone in my city?? Does it even have to be someone in my field??
*Breathe*
Let’s simplify this a little. A mentor is just someone who encourages you and believes in you. A cheerleader if you will. (Well, I have people like that in my life. Yay Me! 🥳)
And if someone out there doesn’t want to see you grow and accomplish your goals, they do not need to be in your realm of thought. (Can you hear the sass in my words? Hope so!)
As a Bookkeeper, I want to see all of my clients succeed. It puts a smile on my face to see them crush goals and make plans to expand/change/grow. I also love seeing fellow entrepreneurs' dreams come true. On social I follow businesses I love, that make feel a connection and people who mean something to me. I may not always be able to buy their product/service, but I sure as heck am going to help spread the word with a like, a share, a tag, whatever, so more people will come across their pages. I smile when I hear of their accomplishments and I send positive vibes & good wishes when they mention struggles or big dreams they have. You may not know me out there in the world wide social web…. But I want you to succeed 🙂
If you feel like you don’t have anyone who sounds like this, then reach out to me. Let's talk about business, goals, dreams, life. I will be your cheerleader! (& no, you don’t need to be my client or a fellow bookkeeper)
Looking for a Mentor? Let me be that person for you.
