T2200 for 2023 Tax Year

Work from home? To claim office expenses you will need to submit Form T2200 - Declaration of Conditions of Employment, when doing your taxes.


For the 2023 Tax Year, the simplified flat rate method has been eliminated. Eligible employees who worked from home in 2023 are required to use the detailed method do claim home office expenses.


Employees will need to reach out to their Employers and obtain a completed and signed Form T2200.


Do you meet the requirements?

  • Have a written or verbal agreement with your employer that you are required to work from home?

  • Were you required to pay expenses related to your workspace that weren't reimbursed by your employer?

  • You worked more than 50% of the time from home for at least 4 consecutive weeks in the tax year?

  • Have appropriate supporting documentation/records of all expenses.
